De fijne mensen bij de Hogeschool Utrecht vinden het van cruciaal belang dat al hun medewerkers `Fris de zomer in’ gaan na een uitdagend jaar. Stichting Challenge Day Nederland mocht daarvoor twee interactieve en high-energy online inspiratiesessies organiseren voor medewerkers. Floor Aardema, expert HR Development bij de HU, was bij één van de online sessies en ze heeft ons laten weten wat haar ervaring was. Deze mogen we delen en dat doen we graag: “Ontzettend bedankt voor de sessie. Maar ik zal ook eerlijk bekennen, dat ik eigenlijk dacht dat ik het type was waar dit soort sessies minder goed bij aan zou slaan. Wél op de bank voor de tv, maar misschien niet wanneer ik zelf zou deelnemen. En dan al helemaal niet digitaal. Gedachten die bij mij naar boven kwamen (vooraf dus) waren, te Amerikaans, te veel gevoelens, te theatraal misschien. Oei, als ik het allemaal opschrijf komt het nog erger over, en dat is juist de reden dat ik het wel opschrijf en dit met jullie deel. Wat heb ik mezelf verrast en laten verbazen! Ik vond het echt super knap, alle bruggetjes die Challenge Day Leader Dick Willems bouwde, van zijn eigen ervaring naar ons eigen persoonlijke verhaal. De timing, het tempo, ik was sneller ‘om’ dan ik ooit voor mogelijk had gehouden. Voelde veel, deelde veel, en dat alles voelde erg goed! Ik wens Challenge Day weer heel veel livesessies toe, want ondanks dat dit ook echt online werkt, gebeurt het vast nog krachtiger in elkaars fysieke aanwezigheid. En by-the-way zo’n sessie gun ik mezelf ook. Hopelijk tot snel bij een live Challenge Day workshop op de HU

Op de laatste schooldag voor de lockdown hebben wij gisteren nog een betekenisvolle gastles kunnen verzorgen in samenwerking met imc.on.tour en respect.foundation. Wekelijks krijgen leerlingen binnen de IMC-programma’s door heel Nederland les van gastdocenten. jennifer__dennison, directeur van Challenge Day Nederland, had een mooie interactie met deze nieuwe Nederlanders bij de taalschool in Hilversum. De leerlingen kwamen erachter dat ze meer overeenkomsten met Jennifer hebben dan dat ze dat in eerste instantie dachten. Jennifer komt namelijk ook niet oorspronkelijk uit Nederland. Zij kon haar persoonlijke verhaal delen met de kinderen over hoe zij op 18-jarige leeftijd de Nederlandse taal heeft geleerd. We are happy to announce the successful execution of another insightful session of Youth for Sustainability Dialogues (Y4SD) on the topic SDG4: Creating Inclusive Spaces for Quality Education and Promoting Innovation in Learning on 27th November 2020 in collaboration with MasterPeace.
The participants were delighted to hear such innovative ideas and engaged in a dialogue with them by asking questions to further their knowledge. The journeys of Santosh Bidari from MasterPeace Nepal and Natalia Stefanska and Bipin from GNSD Sister Schools Project left every person in the audience with a motivation to work towards innovative education. Ditta Trindade and Ashima Mathur furthered the discussion by sharing their own experiences and asking the panelists questions.
We had an audience of 110 participants joining in from 11 countries around the globe who added to the diversity of the event. We were honored to have many school teachers and school children in the audience as well. We are happy to see the enthusiasm of the youth towards making education more innovative and inclusive.

Denk hierbij bijvoorbeeld aan het feit dat kinderen iedere dag worden gepest of buitengesloten. Dianna en Jara vertellen hierover in aflevering 2 van RespectTV. Vanuit PCOU Willibrord zetten we de aandacht voor respect de komende weken graag door. Je kunt hiervoor de #respectbox inzetten die jullie deze week hebben ontvangen. Speel bijvoorbeeld de Storytelling Card Game, een leuke en eenvoudige manier om met elkaar in gesprek te gaan.

En bedenk daarbij: "iemand kan alleen je zelfrespect afnemen als je het hem geeft!" (naar Mahatma Gandhi). Anders gezegd: ze kunnen pas over je heen lopen, als je gaat liggen!`

Peaceday 2020 Global Youth Assembly
MasterPeace is co-creating the event of CityTransformers in partnership with a number of partners. Therefore, on 19 September 2020, young leaders from all over the world, will come together to take counsel on how we can turn the crisis of the pandemic into an opportunity for global renewal.
Inspired by the Doughnut Economy model, the Youth Assembly will focus on the burning question: How can we meet the needs of all – within the means of the planet? The conclusions from the Assembly will be handed over to the UN on the International Day of Peace, 21 September 2020. Your ideas matter!
