Hosted online by Live for Generation Organization (MasterPeace Ethiopia), the “Act Now for a Peaceful World” discussion brought together experts, youth leaders, and practitioners to explore the transformative role of education, culture, and community engagement in building lasting peace. The session highlighted the interconnectedness of learning, dialogue, and collaboration in fostering inclusive societies where young people can thrive as agents of change.
During the discussion, Enock Nsubuga (MasterPeace Uganda) emphasized how education serves as a cornerstone for peace, equipping young people with knowledge, critical thinking, and values that encourage understanding and tolerance. Complementing this perspective, Lucija Popovska (MasterPeace Global Co-Leader) presented insights on the importance of community resilience and cultural diplomacy, highlighting how local initiatives and cultural exchange can strengthen social cohesion and prevent conflict.
Moderated by Blen Wendimu, the session opened with remarks from Solomon Bizualem Brhane (Jesuit Refugee Service) and concluded with reflections by Yonas Berhanu Mamo (Leaders4Governance). Participants engaged in interactive dialogue, sharing experiences, challenges, and practical strategies to foster peace at both local and regional levels. The event underscored the critical role of collaboration across sectors and generations, demonstrating how education, culture, and community action can work hand in hand to create more inclusive, resilient, and peaceful communities.
By connecting youth with experienced practitioners, the discussion provided a platform for exchanging ideas, learning best practices, and inspiring participants to take concrete action toward a peaceful future. Through initiatives like this, MasterPeace continues to empower young people and communities to envision and actively build societies grounded in dialogue, respect, and sustainable development.
